National Nurse’s Week is all about giving nursing professionals their flowers, both literally and figuratively. It is celebrated each May, beginning on the 6th and ending on the 12th.
Nurses are on the front lines of patient care, but at times their sacrifice goes unnoticed. They work long hours caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable times in life. Nurses also juggle a variety of hats. They are caretakers, advocates, therapists, friends, and family to those in their care.
Nurse’s Week begins with National Nurses Day on May 6th, National Student Nurses Day on May 8th, National School Nurses Day on May 10th, and International Nurses Day on May 12th; which is also Florence Nightingale’s Birthday.
